In his eight grade humanities curriculum, Dan Sigward focuses on difficult issues and historic events, including racial segregation, the Holocaust, and conflicts around the world. He uses these topics to guide his students to an understanding of identity, human nature, and the opportunities that they have to take a leadership role in society. With the help of the curriculum resources developed by Facing History and Ourselves, Dan has led his students on a profound investigation of human nature.
